Couples Therapy & Marriage Counseling
The strongest partnerships are made up of two whole people, not two halves. Dr. Deborah Hecker helps couples build clear boundaries, communicate honestly, and stay separate and connected - online, wherever you are.
Why Couples Work
Two whole people make one strong partnership
Couples counseling will benefit you and help you to develop clear cut boundaries apart from the relationship, and remain separate and connected - two people who stay whole individuals while building a life together.
My "Yours, Mine, Ours: Partnership Done Right" model draws on more than three decades of depth-oriented and practical couples work, whether you're strengthening a healthy marriage, working through a difficult patch, or rebuilding trust.
- Develop clear cut boundaries apart from the relationship
Learn to protect your individual identity, needs, and space, even within a committed partnership. - Remain separate and connected
Build the kind of closeness that doesn't require losing yourself - together, but never merged.
Who This Is For
Wherever your relationship is right now
Couples come to this work at very different stages - here's how it can help.
Strengthening a Good Marriage
Not every couple in therapy is in crisis. Many come to deepen an already solid relationship, sharpen communication, and make sure boundaries and connection keep pace as life changes.
Working Through Conflict & Disconnection
For couples caught in repeating arguments, resentment, or distance, we identify the root patterns - often rooted in each partner's personal history - and replace them with healthier ones.

Common Questions
Couples therapy, answered
Is this only for couples in crisis?
Not at all. Couples come to this work at every stage - some are strengthening an already good marriage, others are working through conflict, disconnection, or rebuilding trust.
What does "remain separate and connected" mean?
It means staying two whole, distinct people - each with your own identity, needs, and boundaries - while building genuine closeness together. Losing yourself in a relationship isn't the same as being connected to it.
Do both partners need to attend every session?
Most couples work is done together, though individual sessions can be part of the process when it's useful to your progress as a couple.
